David Culpan has been painting for 20 years. During that time he has been fortunate to have studied with several important teachers, the last being the highly respected Graham Moore. This has led to his passion and commitment to the teachings and approach of Max Meldrum. David values truth and integrity in his work, painting all subjects from life, whether still life, portrait or landscape. His tonal approach upholds the traditions of the old masters. He has been involved in a number of group exhibitions and has been a member of several art societies including the Victorian Artists’ Society. His work is represented in Australian and international collections. David teaches from his studio in Monegeetta, Victoria, and would like to share with his students his desire to pursue tonal understanding in art. ![]() The Reverend Andrew Scott-Branagan oil on canvas 120 x 77 cm ![]() Call of the Wild - oil on canvas 92 x 76 cm ![]() Violin & Cast - oil on canvas 76 x 60 cm ![]() Mount Sonder Yonder - oil on canvas 61 x 46 cm ![]() Emily Gorge - oil on canvas 61 x 46 cm ![]() Altissimo - oil on canvas 31 x 26 cm ![]() Self Portrait - oil on canvas 30 x 21 cm
