Don Barrett has been working at his sculpture for about thirty years. He studied privately and was heavily influenced by sculptor Clement Meadmore. Don believes in being honest with his feelings towards his work and is confident in achieving original results. Don has been involved in several group exhibitions and is a member of the Contemporary Sculptors' Society. His work has been accepted by the Toyota Community Spirit Exhibition, Toorak Traders Competition, Shell Competition and Yering Station Competition, as well as several others. "Most of my sculpture is contemporary abstract, comprising shape, form, colour and texture; but sometimes during the creative process figurative shapes appear. I work intuitively, allowing the work itself to dictate the final outcome." ![]() Taboo Lagoon aluminium 120 x 140 x 50 cm ![]() Native Title wood painted 140 x 70 x 110 cm ![]() Un Dug Yams wood stained and painted 180 x 60 x 120 cm ![]() Black Yabbie Dancing wood stained and painted 70 x 40 x 55 cm ![]() Mine Shaft Abandoned wood stained and painted 270 x 80 x 100 cm ![]() Magic Mushrooms wood stained and painted 60 x 50 x 56 cm ![]() Untitled wood painted 140 x 70 x 110 cm ![]() Untitled wood painted 130 x 90 x 110 cm
